Editing Services

Many of you know I am passionate about writing and helping other authors. I love to edit. I really do. It is fun for me to search through a manuscript and find all the little typos and grammatical errors. I love helping someone hone their craft and create amazing literature. It is why I have a critique group. It is why I have sent in applications for editing jobs. It is why I am the way I am. I treat it like a game. Like a literary scavenger hunt.

As fun as the actual editing process is for me, I also really love to hear, or read rather, the excitement and appreciation that others have when I finish a project for them. I have had the privilege of reading some amazing literature before it ever hits the market. And I am honored to be trusted with that privilege.

I took a step back from editing a little while ago because life turned upside down and I needed to focus on getting back to rights before taking on anyone's project. I need to be able to treat each editing job as a labor of love, giving it my full attention and recognizing the piece of the author's soul that is in every manuscript. I simply couldn't guarantee that while my life was in flux.

Now things are calmer and I am in a place where I can rejoin the world of the living author. I am officially open for new content editing projects! You can find more information on my Editing page (the tab on the top of this website).

I always treat every manuscript with respect. I know that you have put a lot of energy, blood, sweat, tears, and a piece of yourself into your project. Regardless of the size, length, subject matter, or timeline, this is an extension of who you are and what you value. In a lot of ways this is your brain baby. And I will treat it with that level of respect.

I am not going to overlook errors or sugar coat anything. I will give you thorough, complete, and honest critique. I am not one to ignore things that may be hard to swallow. I will, however, be kind in my communication of those errors. I know there is more than one way to tell a story, send a message, or give someone information. Honest critique does not have to be harsh.

If you are interested in having me critique for you, check out the Editing page and send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you!
